Winemakers Comments
A modern Australian Chardonnay of outstanding character, showcasing premium Eden Valley fruit. While drinking beautifully now, with careful cellaring this Chardonnay will develop further for up to 10 years.
Selected parcels of premium Eden Valley fruit were picked at optimum flavour development while still retaining excellent acidity. Fermentation was in 500 litre puncheons, 56% of which were new and the balance all 1 to 2 years old.
Refreshing acidity was retained by limiting malolactic fermentation. Selected parcels also had battonage to add texture, complexity and mouth feel. The final blend was created from a selection of individual barrels.
About the Winery
Two parcels from Eden Valley were selected, one closer to Springton. The parcels were kept separate throughout the picking and winemaking process to ensure that only the best barrels made the final blend.

Has all the characteristics of a Riesling! Minerals, dry and acidic.
Needs to be drunk at room temperature to appreciate the citrus notes at the end. Don't drink it too cold.
Purchased based upon it's win in Germany. It's a wonderful sauv blanc for an afternoon with a few dips and friends. Not a patch on Cloudy Bay, equals Dog Point and Craggy Range, better than Phillip Shaw or Shaw&Smith. I'll buy again as it's great to have an Australian Sauv blanc in the house not ruined by the addition of semillion.
A most drinkable pinot gris with a slightly sweeter flavour without the harsher overtones of similar products.
